Gymnasium Banners

Project: Liliʻuokalani Center | Honolulu, HI

The vision of the project was to create a set of large-scale Athlete Legacy Banners for the new gymnasium at the Liliʻuokalani Center, an innovation hub in urban Honolulu, to celebrate Native Hawaiian athletes who have achieved national recognition. The banners serve as a powerful visual statement, merging the energy and aesthetic of modern sports branding with deep cultural roots. Designed to inspire Native Hawaiian youth, the banners honor trailblazers who have broken barriers and made their mark, with a special tribute to Thomas K. Kaulukukui, for whom the gym is named. More than decorative pieces, the banners symbolize pride, possibility, and the vision of "putting Hawai‘i on the map," encouraging Native Hawaiian youth to dream big and build lasting legacies of their own.
